The Position
Chartwell/Albireo are an established innovation Ignition/SCADA/PLC/BEMS installer and maintainer seeking to employ a full-time, experienced and ‘open-minded’ Morgan Stanley UK Support Engineer, focused primarily on the ongoing delivery of customer focused Service & Project requirements.
Based onsite, the successful applicant will be required to cover the London Data Centre’s in Heathrow and Croydon; frequent travel between them will be necessary. The duties are predominantly to service existing installations and assist with a variety of project works, including commissioning works. Most of the works will be executed outside of normal working hours and weekends as detailed further below. This role will partner another engineer, where you will routinely rotate between the general service team and MS contract.
Chartwell will look to invest as required into the development of any skill shortages required by the candidate to conduct their work to the required standard. These will be established during the interview process and the initial probationary period.

Key Requirements/Experience:
- Proven experience in engineering PLC maintenance & repair
- Proven experience in engineering BMS (Trend) maintenance and repair
- Demonstrate a track record of working during unsociable hours
- Experience in providing solutions to suit customer needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building relationships with professionals at all organisational levels
- Excellent organisational sills
- Ability in problem-solving and basic root-cause analysis
- Ensure the correct products and services are communicated to both the sales teams and delivery team in a timing manner
- Communication and liaison with the R&D team to develop new and existing ways to meet the clients needs and budgets
- The ability to assist with any issues and problems faced by customers dealing with complaints to maintain trust
- Play an integral part in increasing the systems reliability and integrity
- Demonstrate working with initiative
- Microsoft toolset competent
- Customer facing skills are essential for this role as we pride ourselves on our customer relations
- Willingness to learn with a positive can-do attitude
- Survey/document and collate all site information and documentation including photos/software/graphics/head end uploads/containment routes/existing wiring etc to enable accurate execution of the task
- Work with the sales team to meet the clients needs to reach a solution which demonstrates Chartwell expertise and ultimately leads to repeat business
- Work alongside delivery team to make sure clients visions are being delivered from initial design concept to project sign off
- Adhere to all companies and statutory H&S policies, rules, regulations and laws
- Assist with the preparation of estimates for projects or proposals
Desired Requirements/Experience:
- Experience in engineering SCADA applications, preferably Ignition Front End
- Understanding PLC Ladder Logix and script, able to perform baseline fault diagnostic
- Understand Operation Technology (OT) communication configuration and protocols
- Knowledge of automation electrical system design
- An awareness of asset lifecycle management

Working Routine:
- ‘Normal Working Hours’ – Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 16:00
- Out of Hours – Monday to Thursday: 21:30 – 04:00 (Friday paid rest day, NWH rate)
- Out of Hours Weekend – Friday to Saturday: 21:30 – 06:00 / 06:00 – 18:00 / 12:00 – 23:59)
The employment contract will be based on Normal working hours. Any works scheduled during out of hours, will be compensated at 1.5x during the week and 2x over the weekend.
